Kilbarchan Dental Practice is experienced in dealing with nervous patients. We offer IV sedation for extremely nervous patients following an initial consultation. 

We are one of the few dental practices in the Renfrewshire area offering this service. We are close to the villages of Houston, Lochwinnoch, Bridge of Weir and Kilmacolm. We are also conveniently located for Johnstone and Paisley and just 15 minutes from Glasgow.

We understand that it is not uncommon for someone to be nervous about visiting a dentist. These fears can related to issues around pain, previous experience, or even stories passed on from other people.

At Kilbarchan Dental Practice we understand the concerns of our patients and strive to ensure that visiting our practice is a relaxing and unstressful part of each patient's life.

Sheila Macintyre is the lead sedationist at the practice, having been providing this service now for the past 12 years, both in Kilbarchan and her previous practice in Govan health centre. She is also a mentor for two dentists who are gaining experience in sedation so they too can offer the service in the future.

Sheila is delighted that she has recently been offered a place at Newcastle University to study for the diploma in Dental sedation and anxiety. This is undertaken as a distance learning post graduate qualification and she hopes that once completed the practice will extend the sedation services they currently offer.
