Kilbarchan Dental Practice has gone from strength since we moved into shiny new premises last year and so have our team of staff.

Our latest additions are dentists Jillian Gray and Fiona McGregor who have been brought on board to help meet the increasing needs of the centre.

HOW DID A DENTIST IN HOUSTON END UP WORKING IN KILBARCHAN?

Jillian worked with us before when she provided maternity cover so practice owner, Sheila Macintyre, knew she would provide an excellent service.

Jillian, who lives in nearby Houston, graduated from the University of Dundee in 2004. In the 10 years since qualifying she has worked in general practice both in Scotland and in various parts of Australia even spending time working with Australia's Royal Flying Doctor Service! Jillian originally joined the practice in October 2007 and returned in March this year after 3 years of working in Australia. 

HOW DID A KILMACOLM DENTIST COME TO WORK IN KILBARCHAN VIA BRIDGE OF WEIR?

Sheila knew Fiona McGregor by reputation when she worked in Bridge of Weir and she was one of the names that kept cropping up when she asked her colleagues to recommend a good dentist in Renfrewshire.

Fiona, who lives in Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire, graduated from Glasgow University in 2002, where she went on to gain membership of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2004. Over the last 12 years she has worked in both NHS and Private dental practice in addition to teaching students at the Dental Hospitals in Glasgow and Sydney, Australia. Fiona worked at the Bridge of Weir Dentist before she moved the short distance to nearby Kilbarchan.

We are delighted to say that Sheila is really pleased with her new recruits, who are providing additional resource following the birth of Sheila’s 3^rd child, Leia, in May: “Both Jillian and Fiona have slotted straight in which was lucky as Leia arrived three weeks early! They are both really professional, great with the patients and have been a welcome addition team as our range of services continues to expand.”

Having built a reputation providing general dentistry, Kilbarchan Dental Practice now offers a much wider range of services to both NHS and private patients. “Childsmile” nurses are on hand to make younger patient’s visits both fun and educational and with one in four adults also nervous of visiting the dentist, the practice is one of the few in the area that can help by offering a sedation service. Cosmetic dental services such as teeth whitening and facial rejuvenation are also now offered to meet the increasing demand in this area.
